Children’s Mindfulness, Yoga, and Healthy Eating Camp
Mindfulness, yoga, and healthy eating are a powerhouse combination for wellness, low stress, and balanced living for kids ages 6 to 9.
Meditation and mindfulness skills are a recognized and evidence-based method for helping children relax and refocus. The mindfulness component of this camp, hosted by Connected Kids certified tutor and mindfulness expert Renee Groenemann, is designed to expose children to meditation and self-calming practices while giving parents the tools they need to support children at home. Children will learn to name and identify body sensations associated with their stress triggers and emotional states, practice guided meditation experiences, and learn how to shift their focus to more positive thoughts. Recordings of practices from classes will be supplied for home use.
Follow this with two hours of yogic play and healthy eating!
Yoga Adventures utilizes movement and mindfulness to engage the whole child. Larita Hayden will integrate storytelling, games, music, language, and art to help children learn about themselves and their surroundings in a multi-sensory environment. Children will learn breathing techniques, build up their inter- and intrapersonal skills, and have a lot of FUN!
Larita Hayden is a certified kids yoga instructor through Rainbow Kids Yoga, has a 300 yoga certification through World Peace Yoga, and has training with Child Light Yoga as a baby & toddler yoga instructor. Larita is currently the yoga teacher at St. Rita’s School for the Deaf.
