Carla Faletti MA is certified by the Kundalini Research Institute as an instructor of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. Yoga and meditation have been integral parts of her life since 2009. Carla completed alignment-based yoga teacher training in 2012 and Kundalini Teacher Training in 2017. She currently teaches yoga at several studios in Cincinnati and enjoys bringing this spiritual technology to new souls.
Curiosity and a thirst for knowledge and understanding first lead Carla to work as a technician in a neuroscience laboratory after earning a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology from Purdue University in 2000. Her research is published in the American Journal of Physiology: Cell Physiology. Fascinated with the workings of the mind and psyche, Carla earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology in 2006 from the University of Indianapolis and worked for a few years as a mental health counselor.
Carla studied the priestess tradition for one year with internationally renowned yoga teachers Sianna Sherman and Ashley Turner in 2016. In 2017, she published her first book, Courting Shakti. It details her deep longing to know and connect with the feminine aspect of God.
Carla’s journey is one of ever-becoming. Out of frustration with depression and relationships, as well as dissatisfaction with religion, she turned away from a Higher Power as a teenager. In her 20’s, Carla’s undergraduate studies focused on strict adherence to scientific research and principles as a way to understand the meaning of life. Meanwhile, her Higher Power was working in the background, softening her heart and opening her mind.
This journey lead Carla to study psychology. She started to dabble in yoga and meditation, drawn to how these practices might provide relief for her clients and herself. Due to a chronic and deep spiritual emptiness that manifested in addiction, Carla’s life crashed in her early 30’s. This was the equivalent of pushing the re-start button as she gave up her home, career, and relationships.
With nothing left to try, Carla grudgingly started the twelve step model of recovery. During this work, she re-established a conscious relationship with her Higher Power. Surprisingly, Carla gradually not only came to find God, but she fell in love with God, resulting in the most recent addition to her practice – Bhakti Yoga.
Philosophy of Healing:
Meditation and a personal connection to a Higher Power allows me to remember my real priority in life. When I forget who I am (spirit-soul) and identify with my body, chasing after illusory desires, I suffer. There is no lasting material solution to the challenges I face. Serenity, fulfillment, and a feeling of being whole and complete is achieved and maintained when I implement a spiritual solution.
Meditation, Kundalini Yoga and Bhakti Yoga allow me to have direct and personal experiences with my Higher Power. It is this unique experience that catalyzes love and understanding in my heart, establishing satisfying and healthy patterns for living.
